“Journalists uncover celebrity secrets with knee-touching tension.”
BookTuber Opinions
This new Emily Henry feels like her and her publishers trying to emulate Taylor Jenkins Reid's Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, with a celebrity's story interviewed by two journalists. It also seems like her descent into formulaic tropy romance, which is harsh but fair. Still, she remains amazing at creating tension, like knees touching secretly under the table between the tall journalists—I read the first half in two days, super fast for me. The romance builds beautifully despite the emulation. I'd recommend for fans of celebrity drama and witty tension, even if it's not her most original.
