11/22/63 is my all-time favorite book—it's about a man finding a portal to 1958, living five years to try stopping JFK's assassination and bettering the world. It has horror, adventure, love, and a perfectly tied-up ending that's romantic and sad, countering criticisms of King's conclusions. The characters are incredible, especially when it intersects with his book IT. Read IT first if you haven't; nothing will knock this off the top for me.
