“Witchy sisters probe Mothman disappearances in Appalachia.”
BookTuber Opinions
The Appalachian summer atmosphere was incredible, with vivid descriptions of diner food, berry pies, and sticky woods evoking Mothman legends and family secrets, though the plot felt weaker and less emotionally punchy than hoped. Following a girl with amnesia from her own disappearance, alongside her witchy sisters' powers like seeing the future or communing with the dead, builds spooky tension around town vanishings. I loved the outcast family vibes and creepy festival, but the resolution wrapped up interestingly without huge impact. Recommend for cozy yet eerie summer reads to savor the vibes before autumn sequels.
