“Woman storms sexist magical university, uncovers deeper bigotries.”

I generally dislike on-the-nose fantasy messages, but this one's critique of sexism, colonialism, and oppression blindness is so good I forgive it. The opening chapter hooked me, thinking it'd downhill, but it didn't—it's about a magical university admitting its first woman in 100 years amid rampant sexism and bigotry. She discovers even worse oppression than expected. The subtlety in magic and themes shines; I'd recommend for sharp social fantasy without feeling preachy.
