“Invisible scholarship teen spies secrets at elite school.”
BookTuber Opinions
If You Could See the Sun captures that stagnant, trapped feeling of late school or boring summer, following a scholarship girl at an elite Beijing boarding school for diplomats' kids who gains invisibility powers. Desperate for funds, she uses it to spy and sell secrets, leading to toe-curling tension and likable characters that I devoured in one day. It's the least creepy on my list but still has fantasy intrigue without full-on scares, plus a sequel I believe exists. I really connected with her outsider status and the high-stakes scheming in this intense environment. If you're easing into summer fantasy without heavy horror, this is a great, engaging pick that left me satisfied.
