Small Things Like These blew my mind with what Claire Keegan can achieve in just 95 pages—it's the shortest book on my list but packs the emotion of a 1,000-page epic. We're following a family man in a small Irish town who delivers coal and makes a discovery at the local church that forces him to confront his past and future. It's a lovely, heartfelt book that I recommend to everybody; Keegan's writing is incredible, and I've also loved her other work Foster, which is becoming a movie with Cillian Murphy. Read it before the film comes out because it's something special.
